## Description
This PR adds IMAP authentication mechanism selection to Chatwoot's email
inbox configuration. Users can now choose between 'plain', 'login', and
'cram-md5' authentication methods when configuring IMAP settings,
providing flexibility for different email providers that require
specific authentication types.
https://github.com/chatwoot/chatwoot/issues/8867
The implementation includes:
- Frontend dropdown with numeric keys (1, 2, 3) matching SMTP auth style
- Backend API validation for allowed authentication mechanisms
- Consistent 'cram-md5' format throughout the codebase
- Updated IMAP service to handle different auth types properly
This feature maintains consistency with existing SMTP authentication
options and follows the established UI/UX patterns in the application.
## Type of change
Please delete options that are not relevant.
- [x] New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)
- [ ] Bug fix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue)
- [ ] Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing
functionality not to work as expected)
- [ ] This change requires a documentation update
## How Has This Been Tested?
### Manual Testing:
- Tested in Docker environment
- Verified IMAP auth dropdown appears in inbox settings
- Confirmed all three auth mechanisms (plain, login, cram-md5) can be
selected and saved
- Tested API validation by attempting to save invalid auth mechanisms
### Automated Testing:
- Updated existing IMAP service tests to use consistent lowercase values
- Updated API controller tests for authentication parameter handling
- All tests pass locally with the new changes
### Test Configuration:
- Tested with both new and existing inbox configurations
## Checklist:

## Additional Notes
- This feature is backward compatible and doesn't break existing IMAP
configurations
- The 'cram-md5' format is used consistently throughout (UI, API,
storage, services)
- Net::IMAP compatibility is maintained by converting to 'CRAM-MD5'
internally
- Follows the same pattern established by SMTP authentication
configuration

## Description
PLAIN IMAP channels (non-OAuth) were silently retrying failed
authentication every minute, forever. When credentials are
wrong/expired, Net::IMAP::NoResponseError was caught and logged but
channel.authorization_error! was never called — so the Redis error
counter never incremented, reauthorization_required? was never set, and
admins were never notified. OAuth channels already had this handled
correctly via the Reauthorizable concern.
Additionally, Net::IMAP::ResponseParseError (raised by non-RFC-compliant
IMAP servers) was falling through to the StandardError catch-all,
flooding
Estimated impact before fix: ~70–75 broken IMAP inboxes generating
~700k–750k wasted Sidekiq jobs/week.

## Changelog
- Added conditional Active Record encryption to every external
credential we store (SMTP/IMAP passwords, Twilio tokens,
Slack/OpenAI hook tokens, Facebook/Instagram tokens, LINE/Telegram keys,
Twitter secrets) so new writes are encrypted
whenever Chatwoot.encryption_configured? is true; legacy installs still
receive plaintext until their secrets are
updated.
- Tuned encryption settings in config/application.rb to allow legacy
reads (support_unencrypted_data) and to extend
deterministic queries so lookups continue to match plaintext rows during
the rollout; added TODOs to retire the
fallback once encryption becomes mandatory.
- Introduced an MFA-pipeline test suite
(spec/models/external_credentials_encryption_spec.rb) plus shared
examples to
verify each attribute encrypts at rest and that plaintext records
re-encrypt on update, with a dedicated Telegram case.
The existing MFA GitHub workflow now runs these tests using the
preconfigured encryption keys.

## Testing Instructions
1. Instance without encryption keys
- Unset ACTIVE_RECORD_ENCRYPTION_* vars (or run in an environment where
they’re absent).
- Create at least one credentialed channel (e.g., Email SMTP).
- Confirm workflows still function (send/receive mail or a similar
sanity check).
- In the DB you should still see plaintext values—this confirms the
guard prevents encryption when keys are missing.
2. Instance with encryption keys
- Configure the three encryption env vars and restart.
- Pick a couple of representative integrations (e.g., Email SMTP +
Twilio SMS).
- Legacy channel check:
- Use existing records created before enabling keys. Trigger their
workflow (send an email / SMS, or hit the
webhook) to ensure they still authenticate.
- Inspect the raw column—value remains plaintext until changed.
- Update legacy channel:
- Edit one legacy channel’s credential (e.g., change SMTP password).
- Verify the operation still works and the stored value is now encrypted
(raw column differs, accessor returns
original).
- New channel creation:
- Create a new channel of the same type; confirm functionality and that
the stored credential is encrypted from
the start.

This PR adds the following changes
1. Refactor `microsoft/callbacks_controller` to move common logic to
`oauth_callback_controller`, most of the logic is re-used for Google
2. Add UI components, `googleClient` and I18n entries for Google login
3. Add Google callback and inbox creation
4. Add a `joinUrl` utility along with specs (need to move it to utils)
5. Add `GoogleConcern`, `Google::AuthorizationsController` and
`Google::CallbacksController`
> Note: The UI is hidden for now, so we can merge this without any
hiccups, to enable it just revert the commit `05c18de`

This change allows the user to configure both IMAP and SMTP for an email inbox. IMAP enables the user to see emails in Chatwoot. And user can use SMTP to reply to an email conversation.
Users can use the default settings to send and receive emails for email inboxes if both IMAP and SMTP are disabled.
